NBA Championship Ring v. High School Ring. Same Thing, Right?
Did you know that Jostens makes professional championship rings? Your high school and/or college ring was probably also made by Jostens. That means you have something in common with Shaq, Dwyane and the rest of the NBA World Champions. Well, except for the fact that Jostens bilked you for $300 for some gold plating and a birthstone and the Miami Heat likely shelled out at least $20,000 each for 415 rings. The players got the biggest rings, but that means 400 other people got something worth a nice chunk of change. Four hundred people were instrumental in the Heat championship? Okay. The details of the ring are shrouded in secrecy, but Jostens admits that they are 8 1/2 times bigger than the average championship ring. Pat Riley plans to wear his ring every day. He'll have carpal tunnel by Thanksgiving.
