Piscataway is the New Miami

Looking for premium access, celebrities and the velvet rope treatment? Considering a holiday on South Beach? Forget it. Call up the peeps and head straight to New Jersey. Piscataway, New Jersey to be exact. The latest place to see and be seen is none other than the Rutgers University sideline. Greg Schiano, Rutgers head coach and former defensive coordinator at the University of Miami, implemented several Miami traditions when he moved up the seaboard, including allowing former football players to stand on the sideline during Rutgers games. At first, the policy didn't have much impact as too many players weren't that interested in getting a premium view of a 6 TD Rutgers loss. But now that Rutgers is the latest and greatest, it's a V.I.P. mosh pit on the sidelines. Up to 300 former players were on the sidelines for last week's victory against Louisville. Even Donovan McNabb showed up as a guest of Eagles' tight end L.J. Smith to get the "Rutgers experience" [insert joke here]. Schiano did say that he hoped former players would "stalk" the sidelines to inspire the current players, but presumably not suffocate them. The athletic department plans to tighten up the guidelines for sideline access now. No more C-list alumni; no jerseys or tennis shoes; the "You have any women in your party?" interrogation... You know, the usual.
