All T.O., All the Time
Terrell Owens told ESPN during the Sunday Conversation with Michael Irvin that he felt "alone" earlier in the season because of a "snitch." First of all, T.O. talked about the snitch months ago on his radio show with Dan Le Batard. Why hasn't ESPN found out who the snitch is? I WANT TO KNOW WHO THE SNITCH IS! It's either a receiver or a receiver's coach. How hard is it to ferret out a snitch? If you watched "The Wire" this season, you know snitches can't hide.
And this is tangential, but what is going on Philadelphia? Why is Allen Iverson getting the T.O. treatment? So the Eagles suspend Owens to the detriment of their team's on field success and then release him without compensation to a division rival? Brilliant. Now the Sixers have suspended Iverson to the detriment of their team's on court success (and arena attendance) and plan to release him likely for little compensation to the first taker that Allen approves? Brilliant.
And, I can't believe no one has brought up this aspect of Owens' Sunday Conversation. The interview opened with a quote from Martin Luther King. Certainly the placement was intended to incense people to thinking that T.O. was comparing his struggles to Martin Luther King. However, Martin Luther King was not just a civil rights leader, but he was a great philosopher, just like Aristotle or Nietzsche. So, I choose to believe that Owens doesn't so much identify with King as he is inspired by his philosophies. And why do I choose to believe that? Because I'm T.O. apologist #1.
