It Starts From the Top
Ever watch the Falcons and wonder where the discipline, work ethic and focus is? Wonder why Vick lost control and gave the fans the finger? Look no further than the Falcon's fearless leader, Jim Mora.
On Thursday, Jim Mora did a radio interview with his buddy Hugh Millen (Seattle radio 950) and said that he would take the University of Washington job. "I would be at the front of the line... I don't care if we're in the middle of a playoff run." Mora would "absolutely" leave the Falcons for that job. WHAAT?! You don't want the job you have? Bum..... Jim has apparently told Chris Mortensen that it was a joke. I don't care. You don't joke about wanting another head coaching job hours before one of the biggest games in Falcon's history as we are desperately trying to make the playoffs.
Jim Mora is immature. And the players reflect this. A player couldn't get away with making that kind of statement before a pivotal game and neither should Mora. And his father just got punished over inappropriate radio comments? But this shouldn't surprise me from the guy who got fined for using his cell phone on the sidelines (to figure out playoff tiebreakers) and took off his headset during the 4th quarter (Tampa Bay game this season). But it pisses me off. I hope Mora and Knapp get the college head coaching jobs of their dreams after the season is over.
Joke or no joke, what's really sad is that Mora has compromised the atmosphere at the GA Dome for Saturday's game. The fans aren't going to appreciate what Mora said and we'll have to reserve a little boo juice for him when we should be 100% committed to supporting our team. The fans know that. Too bad Mora doesn't.
Update:
Listen to the audio here. Judge for himself. His stand up comedian skills are lacking in my opinion.
The AJC has printed an article about the incident with a transcript.

Just goes to show ya...
If he didnt have Coaching pedigree he would still be someones coordinator.
Nepotism, the antidiluvian affirmative action.
What's worse is that he took it all for granted. I think his "nice guy hustle" is far stronger than the benefits he reaps from nepotism. As a female, I recognize it as mere game.
