Atlanta Falcons Offensive Coordinator Gregg Knapp has been approached about the Stanford head coaching vacancy. Knapp is apparently interested in the job.

And I'm definitely interested in you taking it. Please take the Stanford job! Leave us be. And take it now. Don't wait until after the season. There's recruiting to be done and Stanford needs you.

What about the Falcon's playoff run? Our so-called "offense" might be in chaos without Knapp? We'll be fine. DeCamillis can step in or something. Sacrificing the playoffs this year would be a small price to pay for the long term benefits of making major upgrades in key positions like offensive coordinator. And it would take chronic "nice guys" Mora and Blank off the hook for firing you.

Why stay in Atlanta where Knapp is practically persona non grata in this town? Hope on a Delta plane, Gregg, to the paradise that is Stanford, overflowing with beautiful co-eds and manicured lawns.
