I Guess I'm Not a Romantic

I didn't believe Romo/Simpson.

I don't believe Romo/Underwood.

I don't believe Leinart/Spears.

And I don't believe the Boise State Star Player/Head Cheerleader Proposal.

I guess Ian Johnson decided to take his crocheting sideshow to the next level. Not satisfied with the attention he was receiving for being "the football player who crochets", so he decided to his best Chad Johnson imitation. The proposal was sooooo staged. I've seen better acting in Keanu Reeves movies. Johnson was just trying to get attention in front of the cameras. Predictably, the "happy couple" is on a media blitz this week. I saw them on GMA this morning and I remain unconvinced. Johnson did all the talking while his girlfriend sat there blank-faced like a puppet. At one point, they attempted to kiss for the cameras. I say "attempted" because it was, ummm, awkward. Look at the kiss in the video. What madly in love 20 year olds kiss like that? Especially coupled with the "corny" jump into the arms. Yeah, I'm so NOT buying it.

Also, if you've ever been on a field, it's a very managed environment, especially in a big time environment. I'm not even sure how the cheerleader got near Johnson. Cheerleaders usually have assigned places they're supposed to be and very few people are allowed to wander all over the field, potentially getting too close to top notch broadcasting talent like Fox's Chris Myers. I say it was planned all along.

Judge for yourself...
