Fashion Round Up - Superbowl XLI Edition
In the fashion shocker of the week, Michael Irvin goes CASUAL for the Hall of Fame announcements
I don't understand. Irvin pulls out all the stops for his regular broadcasts, but, on the biggest day of his career goes casual with the t-shirt/blazer look. I mean, he tried to give it the Irvin treatment with the fancy lapels, but I'm disappointed. If there was ever an occasion for an 8 button suit, the HOF announcement was it. But congratulations to Mike on his HOF thing. To quote Dirty Sanchez, "Here's to the Playmaker! I only hope that he keeps it real and has his yellow HOF blazer altered to include 8 buttons and a tie knot big enough to sleep on." I, for one, would love to see that.
If you read Deadspin, you know AJ's picture taking skills are not the best, but I thought this was one of Irvin's best outfits of the year (he also wore this on set). If you're going to go with the gimmicks, keep everything else simple. Here, Irvin does that by pairing his trademark wide knot with traditional blue on blue. Nice.
Irvin also looks nice in light gray.
Is this a preview of Mike's fashion gimmick for next season? Squared off collar with a regular tie knot.
I have forgiven Michael Irvin for the horse hair suit debacle of 2006, but Deion Sanders is actually my fashion winner of the week. I love this seersucker look.
And he even reinvents his collar trim gimmick of the season. I love the light gray and I like it without the tie.
Prince sported chest hair and twins as accessories.
I ordinarily wouldn't condone the wearing of a head scarf out of the house, but you have to do what you have to do. It was raining and you have to protect the perm. Do you want to see Prince with the frizzies? I didn't think so. And I like the homage to the Miami Dolphins colors. And not only did those twins dance in stilettos on a wet stage, Prince didn't even offer them a head scarf. Pimp.
Yeah, I guess it did look like he had a massive boner behind that curtain. Don't hate.
There were tons of sunglasses at the Superbowl. Uni Watch mentioned somewhere that Nike was giving them away to the players, although Reebok is the official clothier of the NFL.

You would think Tank Johnson had enough sense not to show up at media day sporting the thug classic look. But no, we get dark glasses, cornrows and a doo rag! Be sure to give your image consultant a raise, Tank.
Vince "No-Neck" Young, T.O, and Reggie Bush sport screen print t-shirts.

Tony Dungy sports a leisure suit. Just wasn't expecting that from him. That's a little more "soul brotha" than I'm used to seeing him attired.
Devin Hester got his hair done especially for the occasion.
Rex Grossman's lavender sweater did not bring him good luck. Shocking.
Some pregnant lady sold her tummy to ubid.com
Donovan McNabb dressed like he was still in Philly.
Ladanian Tomlinson tries to bring the back the vest suit look. Not sure why he didn't tighten his tie all the way. Ray Lewis also joins in on the vest suit fun.

Mike Ditka wore this hideous purple jacket.
And then wore it again!
And finally, Shannon Sharpe wearing a suit with a mere two buttons on it, looks quite nice in mint green and light gray. And he parted his hair for the occasion. Shannon may resemble a horse, but he's a well dressed horse man.

I still say Irvin hides the stash in his tie knot.
I'd do it too.
